Welcome to Germany's True North
Welcome!
This is the official tourism-website of Germany’s True North.
High up in the north of Germany, on the border with Denmark, lies the self-proclaimed “most beautiful federal state in the world”: Schleswig-Holstein, hemmed in by the rough North Sea on one side and the gentler Baltic Sea on the other. The green land between the coasts is flat and fertile. The wind here is simply everywhere, sometimes just a little bit, a gentle breeze, sometimes a fresh gust and often a full-on storm. The wind ensures that it never gets too warm and is ideal for taking a deep breath and clearing your head.

September to April
Trend-setting guest chefs from all over Europe cook varied gourmet cuisine at various events in Schleswig-Holstein. A visit to the SHGF is definitely worthwhile!

April
The Kurpark in Mölln is transformed into a paradise for garden lovers for "Gartenromantik". Hobby gardeners and professionals alike will find plenty of inspiration, new trends and decorative ideas for their own gardens.

April to May
The geese are on the loose on the Halligen! Whole flocks of geese enjoy the lush green grass on the small islets in the North Sea in spring. The Halligen celebrate the Ringelgan Days with lots of events centered around the animal.
