Steg an der Kiellinie

Sailing

A white sail flaps in the wind, crystal-clear blue water washes around the wooden bow … This image is not just a reality in the Caribbean but also comes to life in one of Europe’s most beautiful yachting areas.

Right up in the far north, the islands of the Danish south seas and the Baltic Sea fjord of Schlei await. Further south, you can sail through the Bay of Kiel, along idyllic cliffs, tranquil bays and miles of sandy beaches. It‘s “Ready about!” at Heiligenhafen, in order to sail to Timmendorf beach and all the way to Lübeck and Travemünde.

A very special and unique experience is a sailing trip through the world of islands and Halligen at the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein. The constant change of tides –water and land – creates a unique, rich maritime landscape.

Sailors can experience this nature up close and personal: numerous sandbanks are home to seals. Seagulls accompany the white sails with every mile. But the tide calendar should be the essential companion of any skipper.

Classic tours or modern catamaran sailing – on the waves of the North Sea, every captain is guaranteed a unique sailing experience. Practised sailors can also sail out to the island of Helgoland.
