Sustainability

Responsible travel in Schleswig-Holstein.

Two coasts that could not be more different – in between the green forests and blue lakes of the inland region. The “Wadden Sea” – a UNESCO World Heritage site – is our home, the fresh air our source of strength and the sea the place where we can forget our worries from everyday life. We want to preserve this beauty and diversity of the true north, and pass it on to generations to come and our guests.

Sustainable enjoyment

A relaxing holiday also includes being spoilt for choice. Visit our northern German inns or our cosy farmhouse cafés. Here, you will be offered one thing above all: regional flare. The meat, cheese and eggs mostly come from the immediate surroundings. The delicious cakes are freshly prepared for you. In our farm shops, you can buy all the regional delicacies with a clear conscience, so that you can also taste the region from home.

You can find more sustainable offers at FEINHEIMISCH Genuss aus Schleswig-Holstein e.V.. The members of the association stand for fresh, high-quality food without additives from Schleswig-Holstein, and teach the conscious handling of food.

Sustainable activities

Experience something in harmony with nature and landscape. Being close to nature and creating great holiday memories. Put on your walking shoes and explore the true north on foot. Alternatively, you can also discover the landscape of the true north by bike with plenty of tailwind, and pay a visit to the nature parks of Schleswig-Holstein by bike. Be it the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park, the Schlei Nature Park or the Aukrug Nature Park – the sparkling lake landscapes will encaptivate you for sure. If you also want to discover the beauty of the true north from the water, our canoeing areas offer you fantastic opportunities to be close to the river landscapes.
