What would Rendsburg be without the canal? Thanks to the canal, the former Danish fortress became an important inland seaport, and to this, it owes its imposing landmark: the railway bridge two-and-a-half kilometres in length, with the world-famous transporter bridge (currently out of service). By the way, it also hosts the longest and toughest rowing regatta in the world, attracting the world’s top eights to the canal every year.

The longest bench in the world is to be found in Rendsburg on the banks of the Kiel Canal. At a length of 575.75 m, it offers a front-row seat of the world’s busiest shipping route.
