Crime writer Hauke grew up on the small North Sea island. Together with his friends Wiebke, Nicole and Kai, he spent a carefree childhood here behind the dike. The four swore to each other to stay on the island forever. But then the high school graduation came to an end, a painful break for all of them, and twenty years later Hauke returned to his home island for the first time. He wrote a crime thriller that is set here and that he is supposed to present in Greta Wohltt's small island bookstore. When the reading begins, he can't believe his eyes: his three friends from back then are sitting in the audience! Especially the sight of Nicole, his first great love, stings him. In the days that followed, the four ran into each other without wanting to. Can you turn back time and finally let old wounds heal? Janne Mommsen previously worked as a nurse, shipyard worker and dream ship pianist. He now mainly writes screenplays and plays. Mommsen lived in North Friesland and always returns there to face the primal force of the tides. Fittingly, his wife's family has lived on the island of Föhr for centuries.
