The Wind Orchestra Wewelsfleth is a dedicated amateur orchestra from our neighboring community Wewelsfleth. Already traditionally, the musicians enrich the program for KulturMärz Glückstadt. The orchestra was founded in 1955 by the former pastor Hans Lohse. At that time, the so-called "village and shipyard band Wewelsfleth" designed parades, village festivals, rallies and church services. In 1975, Heinz Brockmann took over the orchestra and made the "Wewelsflether Sound" known far beyond the borders of Schleswig-Holstein. Since 2017, Uwe Ehrenberg has been directing the wind orchestra from the idyllic neighboring town on the Störmündung. For KulturMärz 2018, the Wewelsfleth wind orchestra will present its varied repertoire for the first time in the premises of Sparkasse Westholstein, at Fritz-Lau-Platz. We can expect this evening a varied mix of concert wind music over pop music to performances of traditional marches and mood music - so the entire range of modern brass music.
