Exhibition with photos, documents, maps and many other exhibits from the long development of the Marschbahn. The first kilometers of the track were built 175 years ago. Since then, the track has been continuously worked on, it has been expanded, modernized. Railway stations, the vehicles, the track technology, but also the passengers and railway workers have always adapted to the times in this long period. In the beginning, a steam locomotive pulled the train; today it is modern electric railcars that take travelers to their destination. The Regional Express and Intercity run to Westerland. The route changed several times. Some routes have been shut down and forgotten. Railway stations became stopping points, some completely abandoned. Others were upgraded to an IC halt. Many quality stations were closed and dismantled. Initially the course was set by hand, around 1900 the mechanical signal boxes came. Today, about half of the route is controlled by three electronic signal boxes.
