Abenteuerlust und Forscherdrang

on November 21, 2019 from 14:00 to 17:00 o'clock in Glückstadt

The Detlefsen Museum in Glückstadt will be 125 years old this year, making it one of the oldest and most traditional museums in Schleswig-Holstein. This is celebrated with a special exhibition. It will recognize those who have provided new insights or broken new ground in many areas of science. So Schleswig-Holsteiner and Hamburgers crossed the eternal ice to the North Pole, fought their way through the thicket, fought malaria-infested rivers, sat for months on islands, drew kangaroos and butterflies in the dim light of wavering cabin-lights. Exhibits from the expeditions from the rhinoceros skull to the butterfly will vividly illustrate the travels and testify to the life achievement of the protagonists. Loans from various Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg museums were collected specially for this exhibition.
