Watersport

Schleswig-Holstein offers the ideal conditions for a fun-filled holiday at or on the water: sailing, surfing, canoeing, diving, SUP – it is all possible here.

Families and beginner water sports enthusiasts can take a trail course in one of the numerous centres. Experienced sailors and ambitious skippers can explore the sailing regions of the seas and of the Baltic Sea fjord of Schlei. In Holstein, Switzerland and in the Duchy of Lauenburg, lakes and nature parks invite you to take out a canoe and tour the waters. And every year, the Kiel Week attracts the world’s largest sailing sports event, with over 3 million visitors to the state capital.

Off to the water!

It doesn’t always have to be the sea. There are some areas between the North Sea and the Baltic offering variety in abundance that entice visitors to embark on excursions on the water for a day or longer.
