During the Viking era, Haithabu was one of the major settlement areas in Northern Europe, alongside Birka (Sweden) and Ribe (Denmark). At the former settlement site within the semi-circular rampart, you can immerse yourself in the era of the Vikings: seven Viking houses show the life of the Scandinavians, and during the summer, a Viking ship sets sail from the pier for a trip across the Schlei.
