Brahms House Heide

The Brahms House is the most northern music museum in Germany. It is a place of remembrance of the famous composer, whose ancestors came from Heide.

The exhibition "Johannes Brahms/Norddeutsche Wurzeln und Bindungen - Wichtige Freunde und Bekannte" (“Johannes Brahms/Northern German roots and connections – important friends and acquaintances”) provides an overview of the history of Brahms’ ancestors, his friendship with the poet Klaus Groth, who came from Dithmarschen, and traces major stages of his life. The Brahms Weeks have been taking place in Heide and surrounding areas every year since 1997.
