Norderstedt
The fifth-largest city in Schleswig-Holstein actually used to be a village. Or, to be precise, four villages: Friedrichsgabe, Garstedt, Harksheide and Glashütte.
Due to their sudden growth, they amalgamated in 1970 to become Norderstedt. This is the reason why the city still retains such lovely green surroundings! On the other hand, it is only a stone’s throw from Hamburg and Northern Germany’s two coastlines.
Do you like wandering around towns, or do you prefer to be out in nature? Do you like to get around on foot, on horseback or on your bike? Whatever your preference, just go ahead and do it.

Schleswig-Holstein Fire Brigade Museum
With its collection of historical fire engines, uniforms and equipment, the State Fire Brigade Museum in Norderstedt offers an interesting and exciting insight into the history of fire fighting.

Ohemoor
One of the many wetlands in the region (partly a nature reserve). The view of the expanses of water, with the blooming cotton grass, is reminiscent of landscapes which can now only be found far in the north, in Scandinavia, and which illustrate the ice-age history of the region.

Train station: Norderstedt Mitte underground station approx. 1 km away. Direct connection via the underground to Hamburg Central Station
