Treasure hunt via satellite
Become a treasure hunter in the Duchy of Lauenburg in the ‘Treasure hunt via satellite’. You begin in the Eulenspiegel town of Mölln and are first of all introduced to the art of Geocoaching. You will also get to know all kinds of facts about the region at the taster session in the ‘erlebnisreich’ (eventful) tourism and nature centre. Then the exciting treasure hunt in the great outdoors begins ...
Follow the clues around the Lauernburg Lakes Nature Park, the Elbe-Lübeck Canal, or the Ratzeburg Lake. You can choose between three different round cycle routes, each between 30 and 40 kilometres in length.
Lost coordinate which leads to the hidden treasure
As you complete the treasure hunt, you have the GPS device on your handlebars, and your map and set of clues in your bag. The object is to solve several puzzles on your way around your chosen route. You are allowed to measure, guess, or count, as the answers to the questions are to be found on the spot. Once you have solved all the puzzles, the secret is revealed and you are given the ‘lost coordinates’ which in turn lead you to the hidden treasure and then to the finishing point of this Geocoaching tour.
A tip for the road
In the region’s farm shops you can buy asparagus and other fruit and vegetables directly from the producers, fresh from the fields. Meanwhile, in the rustic farmhouse cafes, expert bakers will spoil you with homemade gateaux and cakes. You should also make a note of the summer evening cultural events and cathedral concerts in Ratzeburg.
Holiday packages
As well as GPS devices and hired bikes, the company ‘Herzogtum Lauenburg Marketing und Service GmbH’ also offers three-day ‘treasure hunt by satellite’ holiday packages.
