Cast off and ahoy!
Leeward and upward
From the optimist course to catamaran training – on the Baltic coast of Schleswig-Holstein and on the lakes of Holstein Switzerland, children and families learn how to sail quickly and safely.
What’s more, they have lots of fun doing so. After completing one of the courses, they’ll be able to tell leeward from upward and know what port and starboard are, they’ll have practised tacking and coming about and found many new friends.
Perfect introduction
Whether you are in Glücksburg, Grömitz, Heiligenhafen, Niendorf or Travemünde, many places offer sailing school taster courses for children and families. They give you a perfect introduction, for the pros know that ‘the only way to learn to sail is to go sailing’.
The new family-friendly packages will also have you craving a holiday on and by the water: a ‘sailing taster holiday’ on the Schlei, ‘water fun’ in Heiligenhafen, ‘join a sailing crew’ in Neustadt.
The right choice
The baltic sailing coast* attracts families with children to climb aboard!
Those who wish to put to sea themselves will find tailor-made sailing courses between Glücksburg and Travemünde and on the lakes of Holstein Switzerland.
The sailing taster courses offered in many places are the perfect introduction to the basics of sailing – for mum, dad and the little ones! The family-friendly packages will get you in the holiday spirit.
Cast off in Kiel
From 8 May Kiel will be saying cast off and ahoy once more for the 2008 sailing season at its Camp 24|sieben.
Up to 14 September, this collaborative project between Stadtwerke Kiel AG and KIEL.SAILING CITY will once again be providing an entertaining and educational participation programme for sailors little and large, on water or on land. Seven days a week, children will be able to learn to sail here and have lots of fun in the process.
